Cyberpunk Realms

Welcome Traveler.

    All good things must come to an end, and we've reached that point in our 'punk' realm journey.  I thought I'd bring the scope back to something well known again like Steampunk: Cyberpunk. This one, not unlike steampunk, took the period it originates in and adds the fantasy element to it.

Cyberpunk

(2020 - 2100)

    This is one is based in the generation this realm is in now, so it's popularity isn't surprising. Just like steampunk used their time period and their futuristic ideas, it takes the technology and trends of now and injects all our futuristic ideas into it. The color pallet utilizes all kinds of neon colors like electric purple, neon yellow, and neon blues. It gives the megacities these are always set in a manic feel since everything is always moving so fast. If you're having a hard time picturing it, imagine the way vegas never sleeps.

    The fashion of this time is very distinct too. Like how Steampunk integrated gears into every part of the wardrobe, Cyberpunk does the same but with tech. There are bionic limbs, elaborate tattoos, and the punk fashion of now. It especially shows in the hair, which is always alternatively cut and cut in punk styles. The fashion usage really puts you in the theme, since its punk vibe adds to the "near-future" "dystopian" feel.

    If you're wondering about the people of this realm, I'd tread carefully with anyone you meet. The main movie themes these realms house are ones with hackers and city noir. It's like the much brighter and faster version of the mysteries we saw earlier in Dieselpunk. The cities and economy are usually shown with megacorporations taking over since these realms are supposed to be the near future. It makes for really rough places since literally anything could be sold (I'm still a little bitter over my arm.).
