Steampunk Realms, and the many branches of it

Welcome Traveler.

    For the first realms I get into, I wanted to talk about the ones that center around one of my favorite themes: Steampunk. There's so much you can do with just that concept, but over the years I have discovered that from that are so many sub-categories. Their alike in their origin, but the way they deviate is fascinating... and dangerous at times. From those subcategories, I've been to Raypunk, Dieselpunk, Atompunk, and Cyberpunk realms. I feel like I should start this at the very first though, Steampunk.

Steampunk Realms

(1860 - 1910)

    The way it works is largely how it sounds; these realms are centered around steam power, gear tech, and the gaslamp fantasy. When you go to one, you'll see steam blowing out of huge overcomplicated machines, the buildings, the cars, everything. It'll seem like everything needs gears to function, even the people. One of the things I'd most reccomend for coming to this realm is goggles, I definetly regretted not bringing any the first time I got blasted in the face with hot stream.

    The unique part about this realm has to do with majorly with the time frame its set in. Becuase it was concieved in the 1860's, the fashion and technology are described as "victorian fantasy" becuase that's what it's grounded in. You can see it in the fashion and tech:

        This realm takes the old clothes and tech of the victorian area, and enhaces it with the steam power and gears their known for. It gives it a unique style, but also gives it an olden feel compared to now. Fair warning though, if you like the sun I wouldn't reccommend this realm. With all the steam power, smog is basically a blanket over the sky at all times. The native people of this realm don't even seem to remember what a clear sky is. From personal experience, it gets depressing after awhile.
